Dear all - I have just set about upgrading the standard Elna Caps in my PSU - they are 10000uf 50v. Does anyone here have experience of doing this? I should point out I know nothing about electronics but can solder !! Anyway ... I hunted round the net for a while before attempting this and determined that the Caps I needed were 10000uf 63v because of a couple of internal pics of the amp I found. My question is simple - If I fit 63v Caps in place of the 50v ones I have removed will I blow the whole thing up? OR does 63v in place of 50v give the Amp more guts? If anyone can help I'd be obliged.
Thanks

What you are doing, substituting caps with higher voltage limit, is fine. Double check polarity before soldering in the new caps, though. Otherwise...

Replacing caps stated 50V to 63V won't give your amp more guts...... No need for making this replacement unless you know that the original caps has gone bad.....
