This particular WAW by X has done a lot to populize the niche. There are man examples. It just makes so much more sense from a design POV — two are that the XO is moved to a place where it can be made less obnoxious, and the second is that you have a better distribution of the audio octves across the driver (and more equatable sharing of the power spectrum). Except that passive XOs use much bigger parts so cost more.

I am in contact with Jantzen, discussing some of Troel Gravesen's designs - there are several that are interesting to me. The questions i have for the team is to what extent can i pretty up the cabinets from their designs. Some of them a fairly sterile IMO!!
Ive read his website and totally udenrstand someof the "rules" he puts in place but just trying to sound out the flexibility...
I am tossing up over the 8008 corner or the SEAS 3 Way classic mk II builds.
I have some ADAM Audio 5 inch minotors and some old Nuance 7-8 inch woofer two ways attached to the Sansui right now and i just love the warm boominess of the 7-8 woofer when compared to the ADAM monitors I need one in whatever i build.
If anyone else thinks i just whould look at another kit - im still open to ideas.

As long as you maintain driver position, baffle size, external and chamber dimensions, you can finish the speaker however you like.
I think Troels' 3 way classics are among his best designs, and would be inclined to those over a 2-way bookshelf. I think the Discovery Mk 2 + SBA 3WCs model to have more bass than the Seas version, and offer the best value versus the very expensive AudioTechnology and Satori versions.
