Hi all
thought it would be best to do a brief introduction before making a plea for help in the loudspeaker section 😉
My name's Peter and I live in the south east
I'm just getting back into hi-fi after a 20+ year break and am also attempting to teach myself electronics, or more precise, how to diagnose and fix amplifiers! I have brought some cheap faulty NAD and Philips amps with a plan to fault find and fix them! I have already managed to fix my own NAD 304 that was stuck in its protection mode, red light on.
I tend to stray towards the cheaper end of the market as funds are always tight, and if it's of 80's vintage then i'm always interested!! 🙂
Not to say that should someone offer me, say, a Linn Sondek for free that I would refuse......
I've always been a sucker for trying to get the most and more from 'cheaper' components, with mixed success 😀
Currently looking to fix a pair of Ruark Speakers, if you can help, please see my post in the loudspeaker section.
Thanks
Peter

Welcome to diyAudio Peter. The older discrete amps are great way to learn and pretty much 100% fixable.
