Hello, my name is Rui Luis, and I'm an amateur musician.
I am 21, from Portugal, and I'm in two projects. One of them is a country band, very much like Johnny Cash and Dylan; the other one is an electronic industrial alternative band. Later on, I might show some of the songs.

I came here to learn how to do (it myself) some simple stuff that might be handy.
I was thinking about making my own condenser microphone, because we have only 1, a t-bone STC800. It's a really good microphone, but it's not at my place, so I wanted to make my own, so I could at least record the main ideas, with guitar, voice, and some basic percussion.
About the microphone, my first idea was following a guide I found online: How to Build a Condenser Microphone... a Do It Yourself project.
Basically an electret condenser microphone. But if I could make my own vacuum tube microphone, that would be even better.
The problem is, I know nothing of electronics.
Another thing I want to make is an adapter from 3.5 mm jack (female), to 2.5 mm jack (male). I already have an adapter, but it's a simple curly cable from 3.5 mm to 3.55 mm, so I don't get the point.

I'll be around for as long as I don't get tired. If I know nothing of electronics, this may be a waste of time for me.

Best wishes to you all,
R.
