Hi all,

Haven't participated much in any online forums before, but if I'm going to start, I think this is a good place to be...

I'm here because I'd like to learn more about audio, especially recording engineering, live sound, and voiceover recording. I'm an amateur musician myself, but I work for an extremely talented group of contemporary classical musicians, so I'm around a fair amount of excellent engineers and technicians, as well as the occasional electronic musician.

I'd like to learn a bit more, so I don't feel like a complete novice. That, and I've always been fascinated by this stuff, and I've taken little to no time to learn much about it until now.

First, I'd like to start with the basics of a lot of this stuff; I know the basic signal chain, but I don't feel like I know the science behind sound and audio engineering & reproduction. If anyone's got some good places to start, I'd gladly take any and all advice.

Thanks, and looking forward to learning a little something from all you folks!

Robert
