Hello everyone! I am new to this forum. I found it when searching how to make a rear projection brighter. My husband and I are big DIY people. Luckily my husband is really handy to have around. We are really into Christmas and christmas lights. Money is tight this year but we wanted to add something new so we found a virtual santa. We didn't have the money to buy the projector so we have figured out a way to make our own using an old overhead projector, mirror, tv, and dvd player. It works really well the only problem is the brightness. Santa looks good from the waste down but his face is not very defined.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Also, has anyone ever used mylar? We are using parchment paper right now.

Hi and welcome. I tried using an OHP and eventually got my hands on a commercial projector.
I felt that I had taken the easy way out, but it was very much easier. Good luck if you are more persistant than I am!
