Hi all, I am a 34 year old guitarist with a love for tube amplifiers and good quality kit. My theory is that I will get more pleasure out of something I made myself, especially when it is a lot cheaper and can be tailored to suit exactly what I want, by me. (There is also a real lack of choice in the high gain / low output amps for guitars at the moment for the aging bedroom rocker 😀)

I have not done electronics other than a bit of tinkering since my a-levels (I wish I had listened at the time) but I am picking this up and a lot of what I once knew is slowly coming back to me.

My first project was a Smokey amp style Op-Amp amplifier that I designed the circuit of and made the PCB for and my latest is a kit I valve amp I found on the internet which I have built, works great and I am now trying to further my knowledge by tweaking and modding the amp.

From what I have read so far here I am really looking forward to reading and contributing to the forum.

Thanks for having me 😀

By all means, welcome. Not much from me as projects end before they start with a house renovation and family size increasing...third due in September!

But, for the high gain, low output, check out London Power in London Ontario. They also have publications that are guitar and MI-specific for building kit.

Peace.
