I have been lurking around for a while and decided I should stick a post up to say hello and let you know what I do and have done in the DIY audio world.
I'm primarily interested in vinyl and love to pull apart and rebuild turntables. I also enjoy taking the gubbins out of an old dead throw aways and design and build a new body to see if I can get something going. I’ve posted a few of my projects over on the Vinyl Engine Forum if anyone is interested in how I’ve progressed a project but below are a selection of the weird and wonderful.
I would point out that I am not technically minded, I know little to nothing about electronics, my knowledge of speaker sound is limited to what I hear and not what Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd look like on a graph. Turntable setup is an art form and whilst I understand the idea’s, the setting up is hit and miss for me. By that I mean I play around until I get what I think is right with what I’ve got. Unfortunately I have no reference to check against but if I like it then it’s ok.
