Glad to have found this place! Let's see, I'm middle aged with a degree in Electrical Engineering which I put to use for 10 years in the digital microcircuit world. Then, about 15 years ago, switched careers and now I drive an airplane.

My interest in playing guitar was reignited a few years ago as my kids got older and started playing instruments themselves. Now I play in a couple of bands with them, on and off, as much as they can stand hanging out with their old man.

With that renewed interest in music came a renewed interest in electronics. I'd like to design and build a series of tube based amps suitable for the different uses I and the kids have. These will be low wattage (about 5W). The cobwebs are starting to clear on the old unused schooling and I'm looking forward to starting actual designs and builds.

Dave, I am one of the adult members in a youth band at my kids' church. We play message music that isn't necessarily specifically religious, plus some modern praise stuff. We've done songs in the past year from Jewel, James Taylor, The Youngbloods, Nicole Nordeman, Ayiesha Woods, Superchick, Mercyme, Patty Griffin, Casting Crowns, Matthew West, Newsboys, at similar.

The band webpage is http://www.myspace.com/radicalgraceband . There are recordings up from a concert we did in February. We had a bad night musically speaking, but it was a great experience for the kids.

My 16 yr old daughter plays shows all the time and sometimes I'll sit in with her. We played a restaurant gig last fall together, for example.

For work I drive a Canadair CRJ regional jet for a national airline. We have all 3 variants, 50 seat, 70 seat, and 90 seat.

Thanks for the suggestion of the RH84. I'll check that one out.
