Hello Everyone,
Like many others, I have been hanging around and reading many of the posts here. I have posted in a couple of threads, waiting for my "review" period to end. Since I will be starting my own thread soon, thought it was time to make some introductions, instead of doing it in the first thread.
First off, would like to comment on how great this forum is, especially in technical knowledge. It is also great to see such an international pressense. I guess electrons behave the same, all over the world!
While I am new to this forum, I am not new to DIY, or DIY audio projects. Way back when, I started off my career as a tech, and worked for a large computer company, for 4-5 years. I then moved on to S/W development, and continue to work in that field today.
During my school days, built a dynamic range expander/rumble filter. This was built from schematics, and pcbs made in the college lab. Nothing fancy, got a good grade, but more importantly, a fun project. As a tech, I was doing mostly PC mods at home. These were mainly upgrades to the first generation IBM PC and XTs. While I still build my own PCs, I am not modding the PC circuits anymore. Recent year electrical projects include, building a mic preamp, Wallin Jigs, Wallin RS Sound meter mods, and ParaPix amp mods. I am sure there are more.
I have built my own speakers, from even before my college days. I had a few of Weems books, that I constantly had to put the pages back together. 😉 I always have at least a pair, that is in the stage of refinement. In the last few years, this has been a little easier with tools like Speaker Workshop.
I am currently working on some Adcom mods, and would like to move up to building my own amp. This would be building someone elses design or just a slight variation of one. I have a small website here. And if you are really curious in how far my DIY desires go, visit my Tractor website, where I imported and assembled my own. Hey, its in the blood! 😀

You will have to show me a picture of your Avatars. Name seems slightly familiar, but not sure. I had been wanting to build sonotube speakers, for a long time. ie the supposidly better control of internal standing waves and edge defraction. These are more a squashed sonotube 😉 Kinda like a flat sided kidney bean. The wife did pick the colors, a rose quartz, with the white. Needless to say, we will be redoing our living room, and the endcaps and stand will need to be repainted
I know I should have just gone with black. While I have had the TMMs assembled and testing crossover, I am awaiting for the final outcome of the decorating.
PS: I have heard the gammit on these speakers, from great to "looks like a toilet paper roll on end"

Kinda OT, but what kind of farming do you do? Great to have another agrarian audiophile on board! (BTW My first tractor was a Ford 8N--built the year I was born.)

I don't do any farming specificly, like growing crops or raising animals. I have 60+ acres. I use the tractor to help maintain, trails, vacant fields, and creekbed type maintenance. About 20 acres of fields, are used by a local farmer for his feed crops for a dairy farm.
PS: I used some old Ford Ns, as kid working on a neighbors farm. My dad had Farmalls for his gentleman farm.

Oops, saw the plowed fields in the aerial photos of your place and came to the wrong conclusion. I've seen some very beautiful dairy farms up your way though--not yet converted into industrialized milk factories.
