Hi,
I'm very new to electronics but too dumb to know my limitations as I just built a Tube guitar amp. It's a 30 watt version of a Fender 5e3 circuit.
Honestly it wasn't too tough to follow a design, buy parts, and solder them together. And the amp sounds great.
Now I want to learn how this stuff actually works. I was thinking of building a headphone amp or something with a fairly simple design so I can start understanding how the circuit actually works. Of course a headphone amp might be more complicated than I think. I just like the idea of building something with a practical use.

Thank you! Hopefully I'll be able to absord some electronics wisdom and know how! Any suggestions on a good electronics primer? I picked up a couple books from a used book store but they are too basic. They seem to be more kid focused. I know what a resistor does. I need to understand the hows and whys of designing a circuit.
Thanks!
Thanks!
just pick an area here and start reading, takes some time, there is an awesome amount of knowledge here.
BTW I'm a bass player 🙂
