Hello everyone. I'm Bill in Charlotte, NC.

I have a question but not sure which forum topic I should post it in....

My Technics SA-300 receiver is great to play my old LP's on. I have read that replacing capacitors can improve sound quality. I am interested in replacing some of the caps and would like some recommendations on which ones to replace. The list of caps from my original instruction manual is huge. I'm counting 42 electrolytic caps plus an additional 87 random ceramic, polyester, and polystyrene caps. Any help will greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

My soldering skills are pretty lousy. I happen to work with some electrical engineers (mechanical engineer here) that offered to solder the caps & use contact cleaner on the pots & contacts. How can I determine which caps pertain to the amplifier signal path & power supply? I would like to order the caps before handing over my receiver to them. Thanks a bunch for the assistance!
