Greetings all! My name is Steve. I'm writing this from downtown Chicago, IL, and I'm currently a Junior at Columbia College studying Film with a concentration in Producing. My other passion is hollow-state electronics, vintage radio, audio, and vinyl.

I work on projects when I have time and have even begun to design some amps myself (the one I'm currently designing is an 808 SE amp with 6SN7/ 3C24 as input/ driver) and have attached some photos of my work.

Glad to be hear, can't wait to be more involved as time progresses.

-Steve

Steve,

Welcome and hello!

I would love to see more of your phonostage, can you post a few more pics and a schematic?

Attached are more pics of the phono stage. I based the design off this:
Jeremy's Tube RIAA Phono Preamp

It has a hum issue right now related to the filter cap, which I'm going to be replacing. I know the "rats nest" isn't as neat as it could be.

This thing is LOUD. I actually can't believe how much gain I get out of it.

SK

Grounding is everything! Phono preamps are devilishly difficult to get quiet until all the grounding secrets are well internalized. For this circuit, I'd make sure that, besides quiet power, you have common ground at the inputs and a combo of star and bus.
