Hi everyone,
I'm David, very much a novice in all things audio. My daughter and I have been building a pair of open-baffle speakers with vintage drivers. We haven't gotten to the point where things are working yet - something is wrong with the amp - but it's fun.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! Good luck on the open baffle project. Let us know if you need help, PB crossovers can be tricky.

Thank you! i actually need help with the amp, rather than the crossover. And I should probably start a thread about it, but please let me know which forum would be best for this kind of question.
Just as background on the crossover, we're running the Zenith 49CZ860? 12" speakers full-range. And I have plate amps w/ built-in crossovers for the woofers, which are 4 Eminence 15" alinco drivers from an Allen organ made in the early seventies. I haven't even hooked up the woofers yet. If we add a tweeter, I'll probably just use a single capacitor for a high-pass filter. That's the way it was set up in the original Zenith console. If I'm reading it right, the capacitor there is 3 micro farad, so I think that's a crossover around 7000hz.
The tube amp that we're using has some sort of problem - after some seconds or minutes of working fine, it starts to screech feedback out of the left channel. I've switched the preamp tubes, tried switching the speakers from one channel to the other. Nothing seems to work.
