Just wondering if it's possible to nicely cut this in half. I'd use the sides for a gainclone amp.

If you are good with a hacksaw and have lots of stamina !!
Otherwise take it to a (metal) machine shop and ask them to slice it up for you.

carbide is harder then aluminum. You can cut it on a table saw. Start with the blade close to the table and make multiple passes raising the blade a little each time.
I used a compound miter saw to cut heatsinks and almost any aluminum Just use a high count teeth blade thats specific for cutting non ferrous metals like 100T
