hi all
im in the process of nocking up an aleph 4 and just want some oppinions on my heatsinks
im using 4x conrad 350mm x 151mm sinks per monoblock
they will be setup so the sinks form the sides front and back of the monoblocks and will be screwed to each other the same as the original pass designs
im using the brian gt boards so each sink will take 3x irfp 240
each sink is rated at .21w for 80 degree c rise
regards sheafer

this should help you, same heatsinks, almost same amp.

hi mate
thanks for the link
yes these are the sinks but mine are flat backed and are 50mm longer than the ones in the pic so a little more efficient
the aleph 4 i,m building is double the power of the 5 though so im hoping that using 4x per mono block instead of 2x should be enough

That should work fine, from experience those sinks can easily handle 90W each. I would space the fets out much more than the BrianGT OP boards will let you.

thanks bill
i thought it should be ok but just wanted to check
4x runs an aleph 5 ok so 8x should be perfect for an aleph 4 as its not quite double an a5 for dissapation

Hi,
the question is: is it nesessary to have one heatsink per channel or each transistor can use his own heatsink?
Thanks
