In my experiences I have found these ear plugs to provide decent sq with decent protection. The highs are still a tad muffled, and there is some bass bloat - which you will get with any device that occludes the ear. The do not provide as much protection as a true noise blocker, however the sq is much better. Great for concerts.
Just make sure you insert them far enough. After wearing them try and remove any cerrumen (ear wax) that has made it inside the ear plug. You can get small tools just for this at any hearing aid clinic.
