Hopefully this is in the correct forum. Two questions for this with option #1 being the one that I am more interested in. I have a Plantronics M214C mono headset that is made for cordless or cell phone usage. I have used it with my cordless phone and it works fine that way. It has a 2.5mm 3 wire plug. 1. What would the wiring be to connect this headset to a RJ9 telephone handset? I found the wiring for a handset here: File:RJ9 Handset diagram.png - Wikimedia Commons . On the 2.5 headset plug I believe that the tip is mike, ring is headphone and ground is common to both. What I guess I need here is what the wiring is for the headset so I can figure out how to connect to the RJ9 wiring. And which of the black, red, green and yellow of the phone could be paired and used as that common ground if that would work? 2. Also I may want to use the headset with my PC which has the separate green and pink 3.5mm plugs for the headphone and mike. I bought an adapter that was supposed to do that but the mike will not work with that setup. I think that the adapter may actually be defective. Anyway, can someone tell me just what the wiring needs to be to connect these two. I can do the wiring, I just need to have a schematic. Searching online has not given me much and mostly just confuses me with other info. Thanks for any help.
