I saw this same video last summer around when I started my bass traps. The salt trick works - I used it to keep some pine bits from sliding around while clamping so I could make feet for stands.
Salt not sand as sand would blunt any blade used on subsequent cuts I presume. I mainly tend to screw and glue joints so the screws do the alignment and haven't seen this trick before, but I suspect it will come in handy one day...
Excellent Video!
I learned some stuff, the guy is very smart.
Everyone stay safe & wash your hands.
Thank You

Thanks also from me, Cal 🙂!
These are very useful hints. I'll stay tuned, though I don't own all of this gear he uses.
Best regards!

Interesting, I’ve always made final cuts after gluing when it’s critical, or use a brad nailer to set things in place.
Thanks for sharing.

As an carpenter is a old tricks exept for the rubberband klamp, why so much glue? Sugar works well too.
I have a gut feeling, sugar might have an affect but not salt. Can't put it into words right now, just a hunch.
