I have a Craftsmen Router I purchased about a year ago and suddenly the height adjustment seems to be stuck. It's not so stuck I can't turn it, just requires way too much effort to be right. There is a locking mechanism, which I have open, and then I try to adjust, but no go. I even removed it entirely. I'm wondering if maybe sawdust has become lodged in the screw tracks, but I can't get it apart enough to clean it out. Any ideas?
eh, WD-40, thick oil, nothing has really worked. I ended up using a large wood clamp like a wrench to get it loose. I can move it by hand, but only very slowly. I ended up with blisters all over my hand after that day. Unless I'm doing something wrong, I am not a fan of this large threaded body adjustment method. I want to check out a better unit, like say maybe a Dewalt or something. However many of the good brands have identical looking router adjustment systems, and I have concern that it will just do the same thing. They all seem to adjust nice int he store, when they are new and clean.

Ah yes, I remember those days...
... or at least I used to. 😉
