Hi,

Any one knows how much it is now for a pint of beer in the West End pubs? I paid two quid for one pint, also a pack of 20 frags was 2.20 when I left London.

I don't know the current prices in the West-end but the most I ever paid for a simple lager on the continent was about 2.50 Euro which is 1 Euro more than typical asking prices in pubs.

Since than I'd rather have my pint at home which costs me about 0.70 Euro for a half liter of the finest lager brew.

Cheaper still is not to drink at all of course.:bawling:

Skoll,😉

Freaking cold beer..

A couple of years ago I put some (South African I think) beers in the freezer to cool for too long. When they came out and were opened, the contents was neither liquid nor solid. On a scorching hot day, they were excellent! Ever since then, at BBQ's (remember global warming 🙂 ) I offer this beverage to hot and sweaty guests. It always gets a positive reaction, until that is, their body temperature normalises, then they can appreciate "proper beer".

BLUBBER...

Hi,

Oh, and did anyone ever put beer in the freezer on a hot day and than forget about it ?

Broken bottles, guaranteed, not to mention the mess this can make.

Most special brews have a recommended cellar temperature stated on their backside labels, if you vary too much the beer will lose its appeal.

I hate it when a beer is served either way too hot or too cold.

Oh, don't let me see any of you put red whine in the fridge either...that equates to genocide in my book.

Skoll,😉

Hi,

you think room temp is the same in Adelaide as it is in... England?? nope... lol

I certainly don't...

Surely you guys must have heard of cellars down under?

If ever SY reads that you put your red wine in the fridge he's going to spank you for sure, if not that he'll force one of his corks on that mouthpiece of yours so you won't have the last word here.

Than again I don't feel like drinking red wine when it's scorching hot outside, do you?

There you have your open door to have the last word Skinny...

Cheers,😉

Hi,

Is this starting to look like the "Your favourite beer" thread, or what?

High time for the Belgians to export our Rodenbach beer, Gueze and Kriek to OZ...you'd love those and yes, they can be put it the fridge too.

He,he...😉
