Has anyone worked with these switches?

I just got a marshall 9004 SS preamp from a guy for almost nothing. The only problem is that there are three broken switches. I don't think i can fix them because the really small metal contacts are bent and I dont think i can fix them. Has anyone worked with these types of switches before? I was hoping someone could tell me if there is a place to possibly order replacements. Thanks! 🙂

Here's one on E-Bay 221251310816.

The latching variant usually has a spring latch at the front so that each time you press it it changes state. Interlocking switches are usually momentary with a "latching bar". In your application, a single switch on its own would normally be "latching".

Looks like I'm wrong, they used to be very common but I've been trawling the net and it seems that technology has moved on.

No problem.

If you look at the bits that are left you have 4 groups of three pins. The centre pin of each group is the output of the switch, the other two are the two inputs.

If you can't get a 4 Pole DPDT switch you could use relays with a single ON/OFF switch on the front panel. The relays would replace the broken switch, operated by the front panel switch.

If you cant get a 4 P DPDT relay you could always use 2 x 2 P DPDT relays.

Latching means it stays in whichever state you set. The other type is momentary, which means it is only "on" while you hold it in. Switches used for selector duty - such as in for channel A and out for channel B will be latching types.

Short ones and long ones are DPDT and 4PDT. They should still be quite common, though they do come in differing physical sizes, yours are smaller ones.

Your first link, the ebay 4PDT is larger than yours, it won't fit. The second one DPDT in lots of 10 MIGHT fit, though you'd have to clip off the metal corner posts.

Here is one source for the smaller DPDT:
Switch - Marshall, SW DPDT Push PC Mount | Antique Electronic Supply

Parts Is Parts - Guitar, Amplifier, and Korg Keyboard Parts | AUTHORIZED NATIONAL PARTS DISTRIBUTOR FOR KORG, VOX, BLACKSTAR. PARTS FOR FENDER, GIBSON, GRETSCH, HOFNER, SWR, GUILD... might come up with them, ask them.

I found the DPDT in MOuser:http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/ALPS/SPUJ193700/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvxtGF7dlGNpqhXj64OBKI8GdpZykOXyNY=

A little more looking would probably find the 4PDT too.
