of course, but everytime ive compared a good ss to a good tube amp, Ive prefered most of the time the good tube. go figure 🙂There are some good tube amps and also some terrible ones.
.
Why do you have a Tube amp?

I remember overhearing a conversation on an elevator between two people arguing over who has the best CD player and amp and I said you get the best sound listening to a record through a vacuum tube amplifier. They thought I was joking.
Time to smile and walk away. 🙂...and I said you get the best sound listening to a record through a vacuum tube amplifier. They thought I was joking.

You weren't 😕 too sad.
Guys let's stick to the topic of discussion, some posts not germane to the actual discussion have been removed.
Yeah , just what we need , a toob cop ..... 😀
If anything I would say that SS imparts a tone that tubes do not.
Is a "tone" the same as a lack of "tone" that we're used to?
IMHO, valves impart the tone, but I listened to SS exclusively for years before hearing any valve equipment.
Valve amps simply aren't an option for the power levels I require**, so I don't pay them much attention.
** my PA system is also my stereo. I use 400w/ch for the mains and ~2.5kW for the subs. At home, the amps just tick over. During a gig, its just about the right amount of power.
