When I matched irfp240/9240 for a pass amplifier, I measured all devices I have, it's a mixed lot with vishay. Harris. Nec. All Harris devices had lowest VGS of all, and I tested 120 devices, 1amp 15 volt

Maybe you are lucky, hope so, but remember Harris disappeared 20 years ago, anybody holding significative quantities would be a miracle:

so probably Intersil branded ones are the right part.

Even within one brand, process shrinks over the years change the audio behaviour of a mosfet a lot. In particular SOA has got worse with die shrinks
