A friend of mine can buy a HK PA2200 with Owners Manual for €275.
The seller tells him he's (the amp) 😉 in a perfect condition.
Any opinions, thoughts?

Likely Very Good.
Hi Hugo, I do not have any experience of this HK amp, however the reviews here seem very positive.
My experience of HK amplifiers is that they run red hot, and that they are prone to dry/cracked joints, particularly the joints of the bias monitor transistors - these joints are mission critical to reliability/meltdown.
I have never liked the sound of the HK PM series, but a friend had a big Citation and it was magnificent.
For the money you can probably do a lot worse, and if you don't like it I am sure that you would find a buyer.
Regards, Eric.

Thanks...but there sold already.
What would be a good amp if he bought a new one? He's thinking about NAD: http://www.nad.co.uk/hifi_amplifiers/C270_framset.htm
He has quite good speakers, but wants to party now and then, so 10 or 15W will not be enough.

Dunno.
I never bother to go to HIFI retailers because I like what I have, usually don't like what I hear at the dealers, or if I do like what I hear I would never spend the money.
Eric.

Re: Likely Very Good.
It would appear al of HK's PM series are rather silly three-stage designs....
