Hi All,
I did a brief search here and on the web but didn't find anything; I'm also doing a similar post in Subwoofers. I would like to find some round hardwood cones to use as feet for a couple of subwoofers I'm building. I'm thinking dimensions of maybe 2.5 - 3" at the base, with similar or slightly longer height.
This is primarily a cosmetic exercise - I'm building one for a friend for Christmas, and decor is a consideration; the wood will go nicely with both the room and the sub cabinet.
Has anybody here ever done this sort of thing and, more importantly, do you know of a source of ready-made ones? I don't happen to have a lathe to make my own, and don't plan on getting one any time soon.😀 I'm going to visit my local hardwood lumber emporium this weekend, but in the meantime I thought I'd check here.
Thanks for any help!

I've been looking for the same thing myself, I thought that Lowe's would have them but no go so far. I might end up getting one of those little bedside tables that have short legs and just pull them off. Maybe $25 for the table, I think it'd be worth it. Wouldn't be hardwood though, and they'd break fast if I tipped the sub on them....

Well, everybody talks about using spikes or some other isolation device for speakers and subs - I'm under the impression that the cabinet sitting directly on the floor would muddy the sound - with all the surface contact unwanted resonance will be transmitted into the floor (theoretically at least). Of couse if the cabinet is acoustically inert I don't see how this would happen in the first place.
For now I am using very thin rubber feet, set back from the cabinet edges a little bit so that from most sitting and standing angles the sub will appear to be floating above the floor - I guess that's a pretty cool cosmetic touch too.
Anyway remember that this idea is a cosmetic one - I just think that something like that would look sweet, and besides, I think feet on speakers and subs give them a more finished, furniture-like look.
