100 years of Finnish independence. I will be listening to the Sibelius concert this evening. Sadly have lost contact with all my old Nokia colleagues so have no Koskenkorva to toast them tonight.
Thank you for this, billshurv. I can only speak for myself, but I find your post slightly heart warming.
And don't worry about that Koskenkorva, you can toast with whatever you want. Even coffee. Didn't the "beeb" just tell you we love coffee maybe even more?

You're welcome. I have many happy (and drunken) memories from my visits to Finland. Must visit again sometime!
Sakari Oramo was on good form and my wife has ordered me to find some Sibelius piano music 🙂

Thank you gents! I have taken it easy tonight, just a strong cup of coffee, and Sibelius of course. 🙂

I lunched at Finn's, 2 cups good coffee. I did not know it was a birthday, but I congratulate you.
Yes, this Finn's here is pseudo-Irish, not Finnish. We probably had a lot of Finns here, Bangor was full of all kinds of lumber-jacks. I guess the Finns moved west when Maine's trees ran out.
Ah! I have a Fiskar's snow-shovel, new, impressive.
