And on that note, my saintly and overly-patient wife just gave me my present, a first edition of Alfred P. Morgan's "The Boy Electrician." 1913, pre vacuum tube. It shows how to make a wireless receiver with a coherer. There's a chapter entitled "Electrical Appurtenances." Really wonderful!

A twin triode it ain't.....looks like a 6CB6 or one of its relatives. They fit the red board, but no one needs to worry there are at least 16 million more of them out there.
