am curious if anyone can direct texts regarding handmade capacitors and resistors and/or their manufacture
read an interview with audionote (japan)
tres interessant
thankyou

constantan wire
Have you tried to make your own resistors with constantan wire ?
It comes in different gauges, you just cut it in length accordingly.
But hand made capacitors ? Are you kidding ?
-> cutting long paper strips, soak them in oil, take long thin silver foils from a leftover christmas decoration and roll everything slowly like a cigar... 🙂
greetings

Klaus,
Actually all you have to do is just get your hand near a circuit and you have just added a few picofarads of "hand made" capacitance.

In high school, whew that's a long time ago, we had to create a REALLY big capacitor for a laser power supply.
This was achieved by using a piece of double sided PCB stock. We also tried stacking double sided PCB's with limited success, but the single piece of stock worked really well, it was just a tad cumbersome!
