Anybody here know what the European (Swiss?) equivalent of hammerite paint is? I want a nice textured black paint (not crinkle finish) to paint my speakers with. Thanks for any suggestions...

In the US, Rustoleum makes hammered-metal finish paint, however I don't know if that's available in Europe.
Hammerite is expensive, it contains glass fibers, it does a terrible job covering wood and as others have posted it chips easily.
It does work well on metal.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. Are there any other options for a textured black finish that I could apply myself? I have a lot of area (7 large speakers) and a lot of imperfections to cover. There is no way I could get a gloss black lacquer to look nice.

There are other textured paint finishes like marble and granite.
These come in aerosols but it could be a bit expensive to paint seven large speakers. OTHO, if the speakers are good enough, then they will provide an interesting looking finish that will hide those blemishes!
One brand available in the UK is called 'Plasticote' and can be bought in most of the DIY sheds.
