@Jeffh01- have you seen this. Not sure if it would be the right resource for your location. / https://www.irts.ie/cgi/st.cgi?licensing
Thanks @shortwave! That seems to be pretty much authoritative! It looks like I’ll have to retake the test to get back on air. From a bit of reading around today, it looks like there was a set of changes introduced in 2005, so my old qualification probably wouldn’t be recognized now.
I don't live in the country now but do belong to the IRTS. There seem to be a number of local and regional clubs, hopefully near enough to you. IRTS runs the licensing exams and also does training.
There seems to be plenty of clubs in North Dublin, which is a bit of a trek for me, but I eventually found one in Rathfarnham and one in Dun Laoghaire which is fairly convenient from Co Wicklow. I'll get in touch and see if I can find out more. Thanks for the info!
I contacted the IRTS Secretary and he provided me with lots of useful info. I had heard of SDR, but I didn’t know there was an online installation on the web so it seems all you need to get into ham radio listening is your PC or mobile phone!
I will “tune in” online and see what is happening!
Many thanks for your support.

Passed the Technician and General. Examiner suggested I give the Extra a try. I didn't study for it but had a look at it. I figured I didn't have much for it so gave it back without trying it. Thanks for all the suggestions.
