Half decent small mixer with MIDI I/O

This is strictly for the signal managing and mixer, I will follow as close to your personal preference as possible pending on what is available here.
Bonus if it is possible to flip it out of or at least store in a 1u rack space.

Edit:
Would the Verbatim PMT-15 be a decent enough alternative? Or the Lenovo L15? Verbatim PMT15-4k?
Would perhaps be better to find something that can be fixed in a stand, should be possible?

Edit2:
The Lenovo monitors might be easier to mount into a drawer?
Then I might be able to cram in a thin keyboard as well, drag out the drawer and everything is set.
Might go for a bigger extra monitor for everything else.

The iD48 looks like a fine digital mixer. Are you staying in this class for the computer that will run this and the DAW?

I went for durability and tech I could just afford, that could stay in pace with the latest to handle my heavy digital audio devices and software setup. For my needs, this worked out to be gen11 or better Intel CPU, and I found a refurbished Toshiba Dynabook Portege X30W-J series with the i5 chip. Fortunately for me, this meant ending up with a very durable laptop chassis, screen and battery in one unit. This is a Pro class bit of equipment that costs AUD 3k new, and I just picked up another one for my daughter's high school start again as another sub $400 refurbished. The new model out is a top choice for brand new. You would want to look at this level of USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt 4 support for running the better multiport hubs like mine linked below

Could you fit a slide out draw in 1U to store something like a dynabook all plugged in and a line from one of the HDMI or DisplayPort outs to your main desk monitor? This will give you a Pro screen as a touch interface as well as a pro grade workstation heart

Latest Dynabooks

A touch screen as a control surface is my solution for my marine disco desk. The above laptop and hub to multiple generic industrial touch screens. One for Serato DJ, one for the soft mixer console, one for dedicated FL studio. These will be going on the beachcat as the surface of the sound desk. A large non touch screen as the main monitor and a mouse ina condom

These below are a couple of assembled items that can be also found as chassis less units on Ali. Used them before, and they work too well to make one think WTF about the brand name prices

Generic industrial
Generic pro-consumer

Any specific thoughts after going through this material as to what fits your setup best?

Yeah, really liking the iD48, seems like good stuff.

Those Ali links result in 404 pages for me.
So far the Verbatim PMT15-4k is looking good to me, will check out Ali as well.
The idea was to have the touchscreen + keyboard and mouse in a 1u space, nice to have options just in case.
If it is possible to have more screen for the same amount of cash and space that would be nice.

Strongly considering setting up a rack mounted stationary, because I am thinking about programming visualization plugins and send them to a projector, this can be somewhat resource demanding. Would be nice to have a sturdy setup in my 12u box so I have everything there.

These are the two in the Ali links

Do a search for touchscreen and plenty of cheaper options too. Look for the frameless types, these are used in lots of geek projects

What is your computer for the mixer?

I am doing all in one housing too. A flip top with the touch screens on the top surface and opening the lid for access to protected gear inside. Am bit demanding on input device quality and my daily is a Logitech MX mini Keys for the table at the heaving bed, MX Keys full size at the workstation and M720 for mouse. All backlight and metal construction. One of the smaller size industrial screens together with the Mini Keys would be tidy and high quality as well as a lot more durable then the Verbatim if that is consumer grade

Half decent small mixer with MIDI I/O?

It's the Midi part of that, that's the challenge.

no offense to those here, but these guys have some of the best articles available allowing you to see where the companies pedigree developed, much of it allows you to get a good sense of overview to narrow the search... https://www.soundonsound.com/search/articles and open your eyes to the benefits of cheaper options with better quality 'second hand'.

The thing with that bag of requirements is that most fall into the DAW control surface to some computer, or with addons.
OR the full blown standalone workstation, which are always easier than computer interfaces, because its right there at your hand, no or few sub menus. Yeah the set up will always be a learning curve, but when you do less fiddling required.

Sonically:
Midas F16, Mackie VLZ/ CFX16, Allen & Heath have become quite interesting in the last decade. These will all blow the pants of a Yamaha MG12 in sonic terms and quality of build.

Versatility:
Tascam, Behringer, The Tascam Model 12 doesn't look bad although the ad/da converters are unlikely to be good, Tascams pedigree is recording, The Tascam SX-1 -exceptional midi versatility and sequencing, it was designed as the studio in a box. most of their later products are derived or modularised from that. Not forgetting they invented the legendary Portastudio way back, very intuitive and fun, but tape based.

Its an adventure in finding the balance of the equipment that allows creativity and the locic tech of assignability of options (midi)

Thank you for the replies, in short I have had a very beneficial discussion in this thread, and my original demands have been changed somewhat during the course of the debate. I will paste in the results in my first post.

Audient id48 will be used as the main interface.
DAW mastering will mainly be handled using touchscreen.
MIDI is better handled by stand alone solutions, will most likely get something like the CME U6 MIDI Pro which is a USB interface with 3 x I/O, and having a single dedicated multiple I/O MIDI unit can help reduce issues with sync.
