Hail all!

Just another pilgrim wandering the path. I was having a rough spell when a voice from above yelled: "just buy some nice speakers and enjoy yourself".

I then "entry leveled" myself with some Def Tech towers, only to blow one out watching Furiosa, which was worth it. Fixed it with a warranty part-- realized they're not complicated things. Later when a Demand D17 showed up with a broken inductor, I soldered it back on after learning how to solder (it still had silver tips).

I'm trying to hybridize a theater/stereo setup with a Def Tech DM30 center, two Demand D17 towers, and BP 9020 surrounds. I am wired for 2 wall and 2 ceiling speakers, but they're not in good spots for atmos, and it's 4 speakers wired to 4 posts, needing a lot of juice. I'm bi-amping my D17s instead, for now.

Running it all with only an Onkyo 7.2 with 100 watts into 8 ohms. The D17s, I hear, should get 300-500 watts with high damping. Kinda want to restore one of those 80s amps people love, but doing so without harming myself would be nice.

My wife was happy with two 9020s, so I've been pushing uphill. Wish me luck.

Cheers!
