This type of circuit is used in the bigger Crown Macrotecs for example, but is a bit advanced for the average DIYer.
CHecking the relay contacts and changing the mains switch is usually enough for the HH; they were of course not designed for use off a domestic supply.

V800
I used to work and tour with V800's. I see you have orange caps. These were all recalled in 1980 and replaced with blue ones. Yes, all of the caps must be replaced.

I have just acquired one of these H||H V800 beasts. It is supposed to work but I haven't yet powered it up. This was apparently about to be scrapped and my cousin managed to grab it for me. Does anyone have a schematic / manual for this available? I'd like to strip it down, clean and recap if it proves to work.
You should be able to find a scematic online. They were great amps for the their time. Good luck!
The other file is of the 1979 version.
I can't send it due to its size.
Pls PM me. I will forward it.

Yesterday I heard this amplifier with the Tannoy Classic Monitor at the Petersburg recording studio. This seemed interesting to me. Which outstage MOSFETs has been used? Were they lateral?
in the same spirit as the C-AUDIO amps.
I have two left at home and I'm not close to selling them
Ditto for my C-AUDIO

It is the same design as the Harrison 1000. Excellent instruments apart from R15 and R24.
If used on a regular basis and the ground connections to the main smoothers are well maintained, they will out last many modern designs.
The V900 is a different box, that is all.

Hello..I've had it in my main system wired directly to my CD player and sounds great. Absolutely no compression at any volume and my speakers go very loud now .... addictively loud!
The sound is very balanced in my system where it was too bright before. Perhaps it's a warm sounding amp.
Bad points:
Very pronounced transformer hum. This doesn't change when plugged into my mains conditioner.
If I could get rid of the hum then I'd use it in my main system after a good re-spray and re-cap!
The mechanical hum may be due to a small inbalance in the secondary windings, from schematics I see it uses only one bridge rectifier, you could wire it to dual bridge, and add some good snubbers, it might reduce human, also place trafo on soft rubber feet.
Nice oldschool amp by the way.
