H Bridge Amplifier with IRS20124 -> How to make the Feedback Path?

Hello,

I'd like to build a 300W / 4 Ohm H-Bridge Class D Amp with two IRS20124 Gate Driver and a single Power Supply.

I actually don't have a shematic right now but I'm wonderding how to realize the Feedback path in such a design?

Has anyone already build such a amp?

Thanks in advance! 🙂

In a simple way take differential feedback from both the outputs and feed then to respective inputs but out of phase. Else use an opamp to convert from differential to single ended and then to error amplifier.

There's a question left. The shematic of the ucd amp shows the full bridge driver and a comparator at the input. The Feedback path consists of the analog Output, feeded back to the analog input. Now, there is something strange. How can you feed a analog signal over a comparator into a full bridge driver?? There is no pwm Modulation or something. The only thing would be that In+ and In- are already pwm signals but that would not make sense because the feedback signal is analog. I'm confused 🙁

No, there is no PWM, per se. But that is done by the comparator, sort of.

See: Simple Self-Oscillating Class D Amplifier with Full Output Filter Control By: Bruno Putzeys. An AES paper from 2005. It explains how the UCD Class D amplifiers work. Most are half bridge but the full bridge symmetrical designs work the same. He is the creator of this type of Class D, I think. Google it. I can send you a copy if you want. Let me know. I'm stoc005(at)gmail(dot)com for a PM.
BTW, I've simulated that schematic with a few different components in LTSpice and it does indeed work well.
