guiter speakers

Has anybody tried to use guiter as speaker enclosure? Instead of open baffle I was thinking what it would like for a pair of accoustic guiters stripped off the strings, put a full range driver above and close to the opening, even one can put a tweeter on top of the bar too. May not sound good but I think it would look good to have two guiters stands up in the room.🙂

Will it work you think?

It will sound different, but look good.

I know of a japanese builder, who used some resonant
type of enlosure.
Usually we do not want the box to "sing along"
which a guitarbody is built to do.

Instead we try so hard that our hair turn grey,
to dampen any kind of resonances.
Even use stone and sand, which wouldnt make a sound
when you knock at it.
The "knock-test".

You know what I mean, don't you?

I think you should give it a try.
You will be a frontier, a pioneer.
Then share us your experiences
and Pictures!

When you get an idea, you will have a hard time
to get it out of your head, I know.
The best way is to try it out, in action.
After that the next idea have a free way to come to you.

If you never carry out your ideas
it can stop the creative process
that has to flow in creative minds.

If one can cut out the entire back of the guitar with a router, stiffen/dampen the inside wood a bit then there is a open baffle with the look of a guitar. Put the thing on a guitar stand, look nice...
What is the present status
of your Unique Idea?

Sure sounds like a very funny project!
A work of art, too.

OR:

Buy cheap acoustic guitar.

Put flattish speaker inside hole so cone face is flush with guitar front.

Attach speaker terminals to wire, set up plug arrangement so that a speaker cord can be plugged into the guitar.

Attach pickup to body of guitar.

Send either tones, music, whatever to speaker, while you play the strings. Loudspeaker and strings modulate each other and sound is picked up by guitar pickup.

Let us know how it works out. 🙂 🙂
