Hello,

I'm french so I hope you could understand my english :S

I'm looking to replace EL34 on a DIY guitar amp made by a friend.
Two of the tubes are dead by the time, and I want to change models to have a little new sound 🙂

The old tubes are Mullard like them: Mullard EL34

I would know if Shuguang Treasure could be good in guitar amp use?
I'm searching for a smooth and clear sound.
Sometimes I need qualities that are similar to the HiFi sounds.


I know that Shuguang are expensive, but I have 50% reduction, so it could be a good choice or I would be disappointed compared to the Mullard?

"Winged C" Svetlana for best EL34 in Guitar or HiFi Amps - they will definitely give you the "smooth clear" sound.

JJ are cheap (half the price of the above) and reasonable peformance.

I doubt any modern production is up to original Mullard standard.

So, I should forget Shuguang Treasure even with half price reduction?

Why not Sveltana, but I don't have reduction for them, so Shuguang are less expensive than Sveltana in my case. This a real bad choice for guitar?
Shuguang are better than my Mullard (Sovtek in reality) or not?
