As 6A3sumser says, connect G3 to the anode and try.
I really don’t understand DIYers commenting on something they haven’t tried.
My C3g-300B SET (now 18040-300B) always has G3 connected to A on the driver.
In my D3a-6C33C as well as in RIAA preamp D3a also has G3 always connected to A.
Simply, because it sounds more comfortable to my ear.
Why is that so, TG said. Same as example from post 8. Triode curves for pentode-in-triodes are better.
Guys, try it. It costs you nothing.

In the 6C33C triodes, is there a 3 grid? 😀😀😀
Powerful pentodes will always be different from low-power pentodes that cannot be compared.

RDH4, page 36, propose both options: suppressor connected to cathode or to screen and plate. AFAIK most common voltage on g3 is around +15V, when in pentode (this is also what Wavebourn uses as a standard).
