I'm guessing bias has nothing to do with it. It looks like contaminated vacuum. I'd shut it off before a transformer gets damaged.
Yup! It was like desert storm on bagdad in my appartment with this tube!
A bit off-topic, but where you got sockets and top connectors for these tubes?
The ampli is the Audioromy FU29 from china, not a self made ampli. Anyway, sockets an connectors are available on ebay
So what do you think of those TechTubes? Seems to be very little interest over here about them.
Good tube and low cost (one russian GU29 5 euros). I also have the QQE030/20 NOS from Germany ITT to test (7,5 euro). 30 watt for very good sound.
No problem, shipped from china via airmail into a good package
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

audioromy FU20 worth buy it ?
what about the sound of those FU29 amp/ chinese amp .
I'm really interested to buy one considering the price and specifications.... but it's difficult to find feedback about them.
The amp would be used with a lowther (full range) in a mauhorn iv enclosure.
Therefore thanks for your opinions !

I have a exact same amp as you do.
My question is, Is it OK to use 829B tubes instead of FU29 or GU29 w/o changing bias?
Thanks in advance,
Simon
I havent tried with the 829. I have mounted two GU29 and they are not bad at all. Also with the ITT QQ03-20 the sound is pretty good

Good sound. I have modified the power supply and the four caps with four soviet PETP. The original tubes are craps. Change them asap
I just got an Audioromy FU29 which was advertised by it's seller as being a SINGLE ENDED amp. I dug around in the thing and from my ohmmeter it sure looks like the 2 plates of the 829 are at opposite ends of the output transformer primary winding, with B+ fed to the tube via the center tap. That is a classic PUSH-PULL topology- NOT single ended!!!!!
Anybody here have any comment?
(It's a nice sounding amp, really, but it's advertised as SINGLE ENDED and it appears it is actually PUSH PULL!)

Hi!
What caps was used here? Just purchased this amp, and got 4 paper-in-oil caps from russia left from modding my MS-12B pre. It would be nice if they fit! The difference in the sound in my pre was quite noticeable.
