GRS 8FR-8 Full Range Low Budget Project

And the second one in the clamps.
Listening to the very very nice Super 10 Alnico's again in the background .
But the SEAS goes deeper :love:.
But the Super 10 Alnico's have more detail :love:.

Both are very very nice drivers!

The First testrun :D  .
And I must say; the bass is perfect and goes deep!
More details can be added with a super tweeter but enough for easily listening.
Very happy with the result.
Nice cheap speaker with good sound!
Not bad at all! Nice driver!

Next step finishing the cabinets with fine sanding and painting in transparent.

A nice tweak for fullrange drivers is putting some damping felt on the metal of the loudspeaker basket on the inner side facing the paper diaphragm. Damping these first reflections puts away some audible colouration.

Sometimes this effect can be so efficient that you do not need a RCL filter for correcting excess of middle tone emission

With A B listening test with balance knob on amplifier after tweaking only one box its an easily detectable change in sound

Really looks good.

Do you apply any EQ (frequency equalizing) and/or do you measure them?

What amplifier do you use?

As you have different pairs of fullrange loudspeakers. Do you use some speakers for special music or you change system according to your mood?

OK, the fullrangers which work good from the shelf are rare but do exist.

Anyone who wants more can fine tune his speakers.

Some with terrible frequency response would sound completely acceptable and even good if EQed to the point.

Made sometimes tests with self Eq in the near field with Behringer DEQ2496 and ECM8000 mic.

For example tuned a 17cm fullrange driver in a small box ruler flat and down to 20 hertz just to see if it works. And learned a lot from that.
