How big should the heatsink be for a gainclone?

More or less.

It obviously is not such a problem as on the Pass designs..

Anything about the size of a passive (aluminum) heatsink designed to be used on a PII or PIII chip should work quite well for one channel, and some of the larger ones may even work for two. If using a solid Al block, then I'd say anything >1/2" (~1cm) thick with about a 12 in2 (~77cm2) face area per channel would be quite adequate.

Am I the last to receive the boards?

Still nothing over here. When did you mail them to me, Brian?

:bawling:

If your initials are MV, then your order went out on tuesday. It was in the last batch of orders. I am sorry for the delay. It does contain a bonus pcb set, since it shipped out last.

If your initials are not MV, drop me an e-mail.

I also got the $3.xx tax plus $5 handling charge. No big deal. Next day I got one of Bill F's 50K Nobel post (also declared value of $20USD) dropped off for no charge. win some, you loose some 🙂))

PCB´s of GC for a german user

Hello,

I´m very interested in buying some BCP´s of Brain´s gainclone?

I´m from Germany. Where can I get some boards?

What abaout the sound of the GC.

Has anyone compared the GC with Aleph X, XSOZ, Hiraga, JLH?

regards

Günter

My condolences for GT

I just wanted to give Brian & his new wife my congratulations on their marriage and pass on the Brian my condolences on GTs loss to UConn. Pretty much everyone here in CT is charged up for the women's game tonight--double champions would be really cool. If it makes you feel any better, Brian, the Univ I work at will probably never send a basketball team to the sweet 16, ever!

I also wanted to mention, I got my stuff last week in great shape (Thanks again, Brian) and I just picked up a 120 + 120 / 25 + 25 Avel Lindberg toroidal tranny at their headquarters in New Milford yesterday. Really nice people. Check out their web page if you are interested. They do not have any problem selling & mailing 1 tranny out--but these trannys are heavy!

I think I've settled an a design & as soon as I finish my taxes (& watch the UConn women's game), I'll get building.

Cheers & thanks again,
Bret Morrow

I believe Brian is going to do another group buy either the end of this month or next month. He has a WIKI up in the WIKI section (don't know the direct link)

Brian,
Do you still have your @darg.net email?
