Hey-Hey!!!,
I'm gathering somefolks together for a group purchase of new production Peerless S-265-Q E-Linear custom outputs. Tapped at 20, 30 and 40% across the 10k a-a winding. It is a custom wind of the 40W 20-20 series. Secondary of 2, 4, 8 and 16 R.
not that it is forbidden here, but I am not profiting save for the reduction in the each price when the qty. goes up. Price about $140 each. This is the second pair I am getting, and the handful of folks who bought in on the last run have been quite happy. This OPTx is not available anywhere else, let alone at the offered price.
If interested email me, and get your pair on the list, or ask any questions you may have.
cheers,
Douglas

Pricing turned out a bit better than I expected. It is going to be less than $90 each for these Custom outputs.
There is still a detail being decided, M6 steel or non-grain oriented stuff of equal thickenss. Leaning strongly to the not-grain oriented.
Thanks for the interest,
regards,
Douglas

Thanks everybody for the interest and questions.
I am placing the order on 7 October. The price is ~16% better than the 2-at-a-time number so don't worry about missing this particular group.
The finalized specs are: M6 steel, taps at 20, 30 and 40% across the 10k primary. 2, 4, 8 and 16R secondary.
Price is $86/ea. plus UPS shipping from Michigan. If you're out of the US, check about shipping first. Payment is with the traditional Heyboer timeframe: after recieving the Iron. They're one of the few custom winders with this sort of arrangement.
cheers,
Douglas

What tubes/design is this transformer used with? I have one, and found your post using Google. I'd like to buy another one . Thanks!
Hey-Hey!!!,
It's good for a lot of things. HY69 is what I run on mine, or its 12V cousin. 807 too, along with 6L6's. If you pick the OP with care there are *MANY* types you can use it for. 845 while we're at it. Anything you'd want a 5k SE load for. The 45 for instance.
Your original will be in a can, these are available only with endbells( unless you provide a can).
It's a 10k a-a, if you'd want something lower, perhaps the S-271-S at 5k would be more to your liking...🙂 They are a bit more expensive though, as the coil is quite complex and there is more core material. I happened upon one of these and a pair is destined for use in my PP 813 amp.

Douglas

Hi Bob,
What do you have in mind? A pic of the modified reproductions? or a pic of the materials that used to make up the originals? ( there is not much interesting left in that ). Or did you want some other detail?
This might be quite interesting actually, as the S-271-S has( Had? ) a small slice of Ni laminations in the core stack. Only a few plates actually...hardly worth mentioning...unless the TX were advertised as a blueprints-authentic item and it was missing.
cheers,
Douglas

I'm still not quite clear on the primary. Don't know what "10K A to A means". The 6L6 uses 5K plate to plate. Actually, I'm looking for something for 6550 or 6CA7s. Will this work?

Hey-Hey!!!,
a-a, or anode-to-anode is the same thing as plate-to-plate. The S265 is 10k.
The S271S I am about to build a run of is 5k and it is also rated 80 Watts. It is the 20-20 Plus series instead of the 20-20 that the S265 comes from. I am having pairs of taps for g2 and E-Linear connection at the first three 12.5% increments( it has 8 layers on each side of the center tap ).
cheers,
Douglas
