There have been many discussion in the past of viable alternatives, but not much info of actual test result on DIY ESL's per product.

Some of these products have a limited shelf life once opened (6 Months?), and I believe that Killstat is one of those products.
Others that have been tried and seem to work for awhile and then a new coating needs to be applied, like I said limited testing data has been shown.

Yes, Licron is not cheap but it works!!
I have diaphragms coated with it going on 12 years now, and, they still work the same as the very day I had coated them.

The Techspray does supply it in Bulk non-areosol form as well.

As far as I know it is the same material found in the spray cans but I have not gotten any to use yet.
It is about 1/3 to 1/5 the cost per volume compared to the spray cans.

However one gallon is in the $200-$300 range as well, but at one time I think they did have smaller quantities available as well.

It has been a while since I had looked up their products except to find that the original formula Licron is not made anymore and they only supply the Crystal version in spray form.

I liked the the original for some applications I used it for, because it had a lower resistance.
But I have had no issues since First using the Crystal type in 2010 for ESL's yet, as well.

There is always an issue when shipping aerosol's, but the bulk stuff can be obtained easily.
I would contact Techspray of more info and for any distributors that may be in your area.

If your lucky you may be able to talk them into sending you a sample!!!

Their Floor material may be a viable cheaper alternative as well,

This was the very First product I had discovered by Techspray in 2003 when just a few months later they had introduced their original Licron product and back then they would send you a sample upon request.

That was how I got my very First can in 2003 and also a can of Crystal in 2010 that I have yet to use all of.

My can of original Licron got a rust spot on it and that created a pin hole and the rest of the 1/2 to 1/3 can of what I had leaked out a few months ago !!! 😡
:bawling:

But it still worked even after 10 years of storage in the same can the last time I used it in 2013.

jer 🙂

P.S. See this thread on extensive info and the discussions that I had mentioned on these products, towards the last 1/2 of this thread,
