Hi there,
sorry for newbie question...but can someone explain me how to calculate grid-stopper resistor in a class AB1 push pull power amp for guitar?
I mean If I have the data sheet of the tube (pentode) I want to use..
how can I calculate my grid-stopper resistor?
Typical values are 1k, or 5.6k..but which constraint on vacuum tube data sheet must be respected in order to choose this grid-stop resistor? I'm trying to understand the criteria to calculate it and the impact on the sound (I think RC coupling with grid capacitance so a low filter).
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
These resistors cannot really be calculated.
Either follow the manufacturer's recommendations or try some values and check the FFT or THD analysis of your preamp or amp.
Look at the values on the schematics found on the net.
