Greetings all! Stumbled across this place while doing a little research on electrostatic speakers. I've been recording music since 2006, mostly my own tunes. I grew up with video game soundtracks (FF6, chronotrigger, secret of evermore, megaman X, SNES stuff), then got into punk, and after working at a old country western style bar and grill for a few years while jamming with some folks, I listen/play just about anything (mostly er..."singer songwriter" style I guess...). I've got like 6 hours of most original music, most of it is "psycho babble BS" to quote a friend, as most of it is improv one takes.
Anyways enough about my hobbyist musicianship, I'm also going to school for currently computer engineering (plan on getting a degree in audio engineering one day) and doing decently enough to want to apply some of what I've learned to building equipment. I may need to brush up on some circuit theory, but I can build circuits and make some calculations.
I've worked most of my life and pride myself on it. I've mostly just cooked at all kinds of restaurants (mostly corporate fast food, but also a few decent places like a Cajun and Tex-Mex place). I'm shift lead at my place a currently work, ol' Solong Saloon. Yeah it's a bar, but it's also a great and well ran business/restaurant. Yesterdays special was shrimp pesto penne pasta, all house made ingredients. Yum!
So yeah, yipee for me. Looking forward to rubbing elbows in the forums and learning some stuff! I got a few tunes linked on my website if anyone wants to hear them, they're a little older and are definitely odd. How bad they are is a matter of opinion (they're pretty bad).
Cheers!
