Hi, everyone.

I've seen the site off and on for some time in search results (thanks Google) but never got around to seriously following it. So I guess I'm going to change that now.

I got started with electronics in 1975 when I got my novice license, then went on to Ground Radio Repairman in the USAF, and from there to broadcast engineering at an AM station outside St. Louis. I almost got my FCC 1st class, but they did away with it before I could get to the test.

I got out of radio about 20 years ago and went into radio software, which is what I'm doing now.

On the side, I like to play with Arduinos and op-amps. For myself and friends I've built all kinds of little audio mixing circuits, a vocal-zapper or two for a morning show guy I worked with, and too many other things to think of.

My current play-at-home project is to build a small broadcast-style mixing board with a couple of mic and several stereo line inputs, somehow controlled by an Arduino... maybe using AD7111s for the level control, I'm not that far into it (I have the chips, though, so I should put them to use).

I'm also intrigued with the thought of building a good (or not-horrible) sounding audio compressor (a daunting task, I know).

Anyway, 'hi' from me.
