Sounds like a wonderful system. If you need assistance, PM me. I have a system with Textreme 6" mid, Textreme tweeters in a waveguide, and 2x SB shallow 10" subwoofers on a Hypex FA503 plate amp.I finished my active DSP speaker system. Using my 44 year old B&W 802Fs, I disabled the passive crossover, added some terminals and connected all drivers directly to terminals except that the tweeter had a series 75uF MPP cap in series for protection. All drivers are driven by FOSI V3 stereo amplifiers using the 48V 5A supplies and the tweets using the 32V supply. To perform the DSP and active crossover duty, I then used the MiniDSP Flex8. I elected to use all 8th order LR crossovers, The system was voiced using REW and a Umik 1. Sources were a WIIM Pro, PC and TCL TV.
The end result was actually much better than I had anticipated. Considering this is being used in a den with WAF limits I was able to remove bass resonances and the result is that the old 802s never sounded as good as this. In fact, had I finished this system I might never have invested into the other system in build phase. The 802 system has not yet been time aligned and detailed PEQs have not been applied as yet.
My friend who owns some Magicos jaws dropped when he heard this.
My next DSP system in build phase are a set of Sasandu TX enclosures using all SB Acoustics Satori drivers with Textreme materials. MiniDSP Flex 8, with options to use my Fully Regulated Dual Mono Double Barrel Leach amps constructed in mid 80s, for sealed subs using Dayton Audio RSS390HF. Dual Satori midbass drivers driven by Fully Regulated Leach Amps, and Satori bass mid driven by Benchmark AHB2 and Textreme Tweeters driven by Neurochrome Modulus 86. I also picked up 4 FOSI Monos for a song on Prime Day......20% off and Prime Day prices. These could replace the large and bulky amps from the mid 80s.
If anyone who has extensive experience with REW and time alignment can assist me, let me know as I want to begin tweaking both systems. One day I will have a meet at my place with limited attendance for space reasons. I live in north part of Stoufville.
I haven't attended before but would be interested.Last meet was Doug, Chris and 2 newbies. Not worth organizing for the low turnout.
If there’s indication of greater interest I’d possibly reconsider
I will be there and I think John Sloan and Murray Allen will attend if the dates line up. Last time I was travelling in Europe.
Hi Dave,
It is always a pleasure. As long as I can make it, I would be there. I even know the way! lol!

Hello from Ottawa! If this is open to all, I would be interested in attending! Sept 14 should work for me....
Cheers, Dave
Cheers, Dave
all are welcome, maybe share a ride with audio friends. Food and beverages provided
For those who haven’t been its in an industrial unit 2 miles north of the 401 - Markham Road and Finch area.
There are passive speakers 100db/1 watt and a work table to plug in preamps, power amp, speakers , dacs etc.
