Chris,
could you unset your caps-lock key. Typing in all CAPs is considered to be yelling (and is really hard to read).
I haven't heard these GRs but have heard a small set of 2-ways that were quite good.
The Line looks interesting, and knowing GR is probably well sorted out. I have met Bob at Creative and will do business with him sometime -- he carries some nice product.
You should have a run thru Tom's Line Array to get some background. This thread has a couple posts pointing to two excellent technical papers on the subject of line arrays.
Line arrays are facinating, but one has to consider the trade-off of many lowe cost drivers vrs spending the same money on fewer high quality drivers.
In either case going active is always a good idea.

John Chapman of Bent Audio in Whiterock has a pair and he is planning a get together for interested parties in late January. As soon as the date is set we will let people know.

Hi Chris,
I have heard a similar line array recently. It was using a line of the same BG ribbons, but different woofers Peerless 6.5" HDS. I liked it, the midrange was very smooth and sweet. Line arrays have a wonderful, big sound, with a broad soundstage. The are also very dynamic, being extremely efficent. The one I heard had the ribbons used in a dipole fashion, so that would be different. I think the very highest registers were a bit thin.
I have taken a slightly different approach myself. I am building a variant of the Linus Line array, with modifications.
Interestingly, the Linus array was undertaken after the creators listened to the Alpha LS prototype. It is a small DIY world.
Do be sure to read the Linus White Paper by Jim Griffin. There is a link on my webpage. Good stuff.
What is your budget and what exactly are you trying to accomplish?
James

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
