Hi, I want to build enclosures for the goodmans AXIOM 301.
Where can I find the tiele/small parameters for building a bass-reflex
system? Or is a ARU or a aperiodic system better? Maybe an onken system?
Is here somebody who have experiences with this speaker?
Thanks.

sigurd.

Unfortunately OBs do require quite a bit of room even when you can make them smaller. Ideally you need a 60cm+ to the wall behind them and a similar distance to the side wall.

If you want to try something quick and cheap, look around for some used chipboard (particle board) and make up a baffle about 50cm wide and 60cm high. Over here there is no shortage of this material as people throw away old cupboards etc.

Make a couple of tapered wings such that the baffle is angled up toward the listening position. Add a top shelf about 7 cm wide. Then place the 301s in the centre of these baffles and have a listen. 😉

Great, splendid!
I play with the VOTT , drivers 802-8 and 511 B horns.
These axioms are for my lovely son, I will make him a couple...I know a friend who have two axioms 201. He lives not so far from here.
Yes pity that we live a few 100 km away, but maybe?? We never
know..( England is beautifull, I was there on a little holiday last summer.)

AXIOM 301 GOODMANS

Hi nuuk,
I have build a cabinet for the axioms. I tried the open baffle but the bass is not so good.
So i build the cabinet 7200 inch3 with the A.R.U. unit 172. I build them in plywood 22mm ( pine !!! ). I am very satisfied, they sound great, warm en very open, i mounted the speaker on the outside of the front for more 'open' sound.
The A.R.U. is not a problem, i use a thin blade of glassfiber; this
improfe the bass.
🙂
Thanks for your info.
With regards, sigurd.
