Now that I've built my Zigmahornets (see the FR Gallery) and they've been well received by SWMBO, a need has now been expressed for an "unobtrusive" CD player.
The standard format box player is really too large (even the low-profile ones), so I'm thinking something in a mini or midi format would be visually satisfactory, BUT I want something that has pretensions to high fidelity.
I don't want a "walkman" style player.
I don't want a mini / midi that looks the part but sounds like crap.
I want to buy second-hand. (Perhaps a midi system, and just junk the speakers?)
Can anyone suggest any feasible options?
(Photos or links please.)
* Is the TEAC L700P(?) system worth consideration?
Thanks
Doug

Thanks Adason.
That is a very attractive bit of kit. Available locally here, but the price is ~AUS$1,000 new. Ouch!

There are quite a few old Philips machines in midi sized cases (eg CD160 etc.) They have TDA1541 (A and non A) and can be modified to sound very good indeed.
